foresthouse, though sometimes I like to pretend it's actually one of her chinchillas, using her computer while she's asleep:
List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LiveJournal along with your seven songs.
1. War Photographer by Jason Forrest, largely because of the rockin' video. (Check it out at http://www.abacuscreativemanagement.com/artists/trussell/videos/video3.htm --works on Firefox, not so well on Explorer).
2. William Shatner's version of Common People. For lo, it doth rock.
3. Malaguena Salerosa, the Chingon version. I've printed out the lyrics and have half-baked dreams of memorizing them just in case I ever find myself in a karaoke club in a Spanish-speaking country. Because really, you never know.
4. Speaking of karaoke, Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm by the Crashtest Dummies is one of those songs that you think will be a good idea until you're on stage and about a third of the way through it, at which point it's too late, FAR too late to stop, and you know you're in for it. You know. One of THOSE songs. But it's still been stuck in my head all week.
5. Tonight You Belong To Me...I know I just mentioned a couple of posts ago, but it's so damn addictive! Ukelele! Hopeless love! Intertwining harmonies!
6. That Chumbawumba song. I realized far too late this morning that I was singing it in the shower. In assorted accents. I'm ashamed.
7. Sailing for Adventure, off Muppet Treasure Island. Because lyrics like "Hoist the sails and sing/sailing for adventure on the big blue wet thing" are golden, and need to be sung at the top of one's lungs.

Date: 2006-01-26 06:22 pm (UTC)I'll confess: I think that "Shiver My Timbers" off that soundtrack is really an honestly cool pirate song. You could almost take it seriously... if not for the singing tiki heads, anyway.
