I have lots of things to do in-state.

I have no money.

I have trips to NYC, and the PNW, and Toronto to save and plan for.

Lots of things to do. Did I mention that? And the lack of cash?

So whyyyyy am I staring at pics from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and writhing in envy/lust/need?

I second that question!

If you plan to come to the Portland area, we'd be happy to offer (cat-laden) crash space ... least we could do in return for all your work on "Dying on Stage."

Hi, sorry to take so long to answer you! I think this note got lost in my inbox ... pffft ack.

Anyway, we live in Hillsboro too ... just off John Olsen and Cornell.

Let us know if you'd like to get together for coffee or something, sometime!

best wishes, Jamie

I love the Fringe! I go there every year, spend stupid amounts of money and see billions of shows. Well, I usually go for a week and see about 25 shows... :-)

Just how many deadly sins are you going to commit in one day? :)

You should read the book No Touch Monkey. It is a travel journal by one of my fave authors, Ayun Halliday (wife of one of the Urinetown writers) and there is a whole chapter about when they performed there.

...because staring and writhing keep samsara going, and also feel like a direction to go in, in a warped must-make-progress way...have fun suffering! One of my teachers said that you may as well enjoy suffering, because it doesn't have anything else going for it...quite clever, I say!
