Present Tense
May. 26th, 2006 12:29 pmI'm definitely present, but not very tense.
In the last ten minutes, I've seen:
*Eight women wearing cat ears;
*One man dressed like Spike from Cowboy Bebop;
*Two women dressed like badgers;
*One man dressed in what seemed to be a Sully from 'Monsters Inc' outfit;
*One person in a tin-can robot suit;
*My friend Conor! Dressed like a very cool swordfighter!
*Five Dunkin' Donuts employees dressed in Hawaiian shirts and twirling hula hoops while a steel drummer plays in the background, as part of a promotion for their smoothies.
Between the Anime Boston convention and the holiday weekend, this is one of those lunchtimes that remind me why I love living in a big city.
Speaking of people in odd costumes, tomorrow evening I'll be performing with Mobius, doing a performance art piece on City Hall Plaza that involves my friend Alisia as 'Art Dog' and me as 'Art Dog Trainer'. Watching her do ballet moves in her dog costume last night was very strange. Being in performance art mode, NOT interacting with the audience, NOT being extroverted, JUST acting like a normal dog owner trying to train a normal dog...that, too, will be very strange. (But at least I won't be up on a ladder for 8 hours, cleaning the sky with a squeegee. Ah, performance art.) So if anyone wants to check that out, it's 5-7:30 Saturday. (Raindate Sunday).

Date: 2006-05-27 12:47 am (UTC)...this wouldn't happen to be Alisia of the rubber-band mohawk and former working-at-Grand-Opening-ness? Because, dude, that would be a very freaky coincidence. Because I interned at Mobius a couple of years ago when she worked there and have randomly been running into her since, and I really should go check out their new space someday, and...
