In Harvard Square this afternoon, in the space of about twenty minutes I:

* Watched part of a Native American Powwow going on in the middle of Radcliffe (the "Tiny Tot" 4 and under division! "Dancing" in their tribal outfits, which for most of them just meant standing and staring at all the people! SO CUTE!)

* Saw a man walk past me painted green from the waist up and orange from the waist down, with a bra and tutu on and a stripe shaved down the middle of his hair. I'm guessing either a sports hazing or someone who lost a bet.

* Experienced the horror which is the Holyoke Public Bathrooms. (Creepy old men, no toilet paper, strange stains, NO TOILET PAPER)

* Remembered it was Free Comic Book Day. And lo, there was much geeking.

Before that in my sketch comedy writing class, I got confirmation that my exorcism sketch was, indeed, the most obscene thing I've ever written. By a factor of 10. I also discovered that I can do the voice of a little old Yiddish lady if I just keep talking without inhaling until my lungs ache. I also heard a story about a local comedian and an eyebrow pencil that made me laugh until I felt dizzy. (This was before the Yiddish lady/lack of oxygen part)

After I post this, I'm going to walk the dog, put another apple out for Peaches the Semi-Tame Squirrel, and then take D out to see "The Host".

To sum up: for a day that started out badly, this rocks.

I totally do. :)

How are you feeling? Your last pic made me want to wrap a foil blanket around your shoulders and carry you over to that tent where Boston Marathoners get their post-race swag.

i am hanging tough, bri. hanging tough. the end of the semester is always so busy, too busy. but it's nearly over, and that's keeping me hopeful. : )
thanks for asking. and for thinking of foil blankets. i probably could use one of those at this point; it certainly feels like i've been running a marathon. : )

It is, in fact, the IB one and it's quite good. I've noticed a big improvement in my writing, and the teacher's a hoot.

Ooh, what were they giving away for free comics day? I missed it cuz I was at faire. :(

I thought the Host was pretty entertaining, too. Still not sure if it was meant to be comedy or drama, but I liked it.
