Ooo, the poor masochistic zombies!

The thing is, while I think kicking a ball (or at least, having your leg where a ball is rolling) is within the capabilities of your average zombie, picking up and throwing a dodgeball is something only those highspeed ultra-feral ones can do, and they're much more likely to mistake it for a big kidney than throw it. So zombie vs. zombie dodgeball would look like two rows of participants staring at each other mindlessly.

You know, like human chess at KRF.

Just less smelly.
