Jun. 18th, 2009 02:12 pmI like to think I'm not that out of shape, but, well, I'll just let the next sentence speak for itself.
I'm achy from playing kickball.
My friend Erika, being awesome, organizes semi-regular games, and I went to my first one last night and it was fantastic. And there were cupcakes and the teams kept getting larger as local 8-year-olds snuck into the lineup and the whole "keeping score" thing was nicely nebulous and the folks there were my blend of geeky-nerdy and blackbirds and swallows kept flitting by overhead and the whole evening was just made of win.
That was yesterday, though, and today my hips. My never-complaining hips. My happy-to-carry-me-for-a-5K-jog hips are telling me that while moving at a steady slow lope is fine, thank YEW, this whole sprinting-really-fast thing is a whole other ballga...er...is a whole other thing. Oh my yes. A thing they really disapprove of.
And did you know that you use your hips when you do push-ups? I did not know this. Until I tried to do some today. Now I know. Oh yes.

Wiki agrees that glass is harder than your knife (no matter how good your knife), so the glass will win every time. But wood is organic and has antiseptic properties! Hmmm...
