Thing you probably didn't know about me: as a child, I spent a few years as a total Carl Sagan fanboy. I LOVED 'Cosmos', to the point where that summer I cut a deal with my cousin and moved two cords of wood from the chopping area down into the basement, wheelbarrow load by wheelbarrow load, if he'd buy me the book. It was totally worth it.

And seeing this video brings it all back:

I've got the Cosmos DVD set with some of the astronomy science updated to reflect things we've learned since Cosmos first aired. It's wonderful.

I love this song! Someone posted an audio link a few weeks ago. Thanks for the video!

That is amazing.
It actually brought tears to my eyes.

Although Sagan's digitally altered voice sounded a lot like Kermit the Frog to me...

Thank you for posting this! I've had the first set of expisodes of Cosmos in our Netflix queue for streaming live for a couple months -- now I think I need to watch it.

How come my homey James Burke don't get so much love?

Connections (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connections_%28TV_series%29) rocked too, especially for us nascent history geeks.

It did! I can't go to an art museum without remembering his episode about perspective and what a freaky revelation it was when artists began using it in the Renaissance.
