So I went to this audition yesterday. And I'm so thoroughly flummoxed by the non-disclosure agreement they had me read and sign ("please initial beside the 'WILL HUNT YOU DOWN' paragraphs") that I don't even know if I can name the COMPANY I auditioned for.

I'm still a little bit rattled. It would be awesome if I got this but I think it's safe to safe to say that my chances are pretty slim for numerous reasons, which I can list below:

1) My voice has been described as "distinctive" and "muppety", which I don't think is the direction they're going in;

2) There were a LOT of other people trying out, so just through sheer numerical odds it'll be like winning the lottery;

3) I didn't do as well as I could--I mean, I literally woke up at 3:30 this morning thinking about the second portion of the audition and going "Oh, crap, that's what I should have done!" Thank you oh so much, way-too-late subconscious mind.

4) I was utterly rattled on my walk there by the sight of two men dressed as Uncle Sam, standing on streetcorners waving at cars. Not passing out flyers or holding signs, not even holding up little cups to collect donations, just waving. In 38-degree drizzle. Why?? WHY??

Sorry that the Top Sekrit audition didn't go as well as you hoped for, but at least something good came out of it all:

This hilarious, awesome post!

I can answer the last one. They are advertising an income tax service. They also dress people as the statue of liberty.

At least they have people doing that here in Tx. I bet it's the same.

Distinctive and muppety, huh? You have made me very curious and I must demand either video or a voice post from you at some point! :P

But in all seriousness, I've got my fingers crossed for you about the audition. :)

So I take it it wasn't an audition for the Jim Henson company? Drat.

It was, but they're taking a really new direction this year and 'Muppet Grand Theft Auto' seems like AAAA AAAAA NON-DISCLOSURE LAWYERS AAAA BURNINGGGGG

Bravo for auditioning, whether you get the gig or not. It takes commitment to step up to the plate and swing in the big leagues. And I think it's good for your acting chops.

I was going to say "How does Bri know the angle at which the drizzle is falling?" then realized you meant the temperature!
