So I'm looking at my list of goals for the year. And there are 16 of them, and it's a very ambitious list. And is 'try to write a sitcom' anywhere on there? No, it is not. And was this a conscious decision I made after deciding a) the work-to-reward ratio was very, very small, and b) the best thing that could result was an invitation to LA, and I don't WANT to go to LA, so what would the point be? Yes, yes it is.

So why am I meeting a woman at Diesel tonight because of an ad she placed in Craigslist looking for a sitcom writing partner? Because I'm a glutton for punishment.

Oh, a friend of mine will be dancing and performing in this during the next few days. It sounds pretty intense (though, according to her, the actor/dancers have gotten comfortable enough to engage in some gallows humor backstage), and worth checking out.

Hey! A friend of mine is going to be performing in Body & Sold, too! Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make it to her show, but what a strange coincidence...
Your friend isn't Jen Allison Lewis, is she?

How strange! No, my friend's named Julia (not the trombonist). She's apparently been going around all week trying to walk like a male brothel patron.

Wow, I heard about this from one of the women's studies academic lists I'm on (there are two, since there are two programs I have attended). Small world, isn't it?

It does sound really intense.
