Jun. 26th, 2003 03:31 pmThere are some days when I feel like the Nurse in 'Romeo & Juliet' in the first part of the play, when people are finding each other and love seems simple.
And then there are days, like today, when I feel like the Nurse in the last bit of the play, when everything's falling down in flames and rubble and she's just like "But...it, and...everything was so good, and, and....Love!, and...what the fuck just happened?"
You know what I feel like? I feel like re-writing the play so that, around Act 2, the Nurse gets a big stick and just WHACKS everybody who does something stupid. It'd be re-titled "Romeo and Juliet and the Nurse with a Big Can of Whoop-Ass".

One's hopefully working itself out, but the other one really requires a time machine, a big bag of snakes, and someone yelling "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!?!" in a certain boy's ear to be put right. You know how Opus used to hop on someone's lap, grab them by the collar, and shake them until their eyes bulged like ping-pongs? Like that.
