Page 547 in Harry Potter 5. Want to throttle certain character. Want to stay up tonight until I finish. Argh.

Rehearsal out in the sun today. Must bring water tomorrow. Was very punchy by four...which was when I got the choreography for a new fight, against Brian H. wielding a big-ass halberd! When that thing hits a metal shield (and I manage to hold the shield properly, *cough*) it's LOUD.

I'm feeling really glad that I didn't spend very much LARP time doing the sword & board thing, or I'd be ruined for fighting with steel. (I know, I know, there are folks who can do both...not me, though.) Just the little bit I did pick up--the 'hold your ultralight plastic shield as far away from you and close to your opponent as you can' technique--SO does not work. If I'd gotten to the point where I instinctively flamingoed (stood on one leg and leaned forward to minimize the legal strike zones, for you non-NERO folk), the fight directors would've a)laughed until they cried and b) introduced me to the wonderful role of 'Mungo the Simple Villager With Flippers for Hands'.

(In the course of writing that paragraph I was also having a conversation with D. She thinks that telling her all about the fight as soon as I got home, but having to have the information pried loose about the group I ate lunch with, and that Christine is back from AZ and swung by the practice for a visit, is a sign my priorities are all screwed up. I think she should stand in the sun with someone swinging a giant axe at her for a half hour and then see what's most on her mind afterwards. Hrmph.)

Back to the book. Oh Snape, why do I find myself slowing down at each bit of your dialogue so I can imagine how Alan Rickman would enunciate each of your words?

That's why it's sooooo cool :) Who cares about dialogue when THAT happens! You're going to steal the limelight.

Alan Rickman as Snapes=Dark chocolate truffle (slurp)

Since at one point or another, I wanted to strangle every character in the book, I'm wondering which one /you/ want to strangle.
