Finished the sketch thingie (484 words after careful editting, to fit within the 500 word max) and sent it out. We'll see what happens. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] faekat for alerting me to the ad in the first place.

Worst comes to worst, it can be a sketch for the Prophets.....after I, um, tack on an ending. Right now I will proudly claim that I thought it would be a better idea to end on the best joke and have a sudden blackout (and not go over the word count max, mind you) than to trail off and dilute the funny.

Yes, that's it.

It has nothing to do with the fact that I'd been staring at the darn thing for six hours and was sick to death of looking at it.

In other news, Alan Moore says in an interview that he never writes second drafts. Everything of his we've ever seen--Swamp Thing, Watchmen, Top 10--all first drafts. I could weep.

I cannot even begin to think about this being possibly true. My /God/.
