The Weekend
Aug. 4th, 2003 09:41 amThe good: Rehearsal Saturday seemed to go well. Being in four scenes as opposed to ten seems *so* strange...as does rehearsing in a place where there aren't any toddlers running through the middle of the scene blowing a whistle. A nice, relaxing sort of strange.
The chocolate party that night went *very* well! I always forget how good it'll be to see folks until I actually see them. And 80s music just brings the fun. I still want to do a techno remix of "Take On Me" just so I can demand that Miyazaki animate a remake of the video.
Sunday afternoon was
cutiemelissa's and
keelie's plays up in Lexington, and they were both really good!
The bad: Chang Sho, you have the best Chinese brunch in Cambridge, but is it really $18 worth of goodness? And if you're going to charge $1.50 for each soda, do you have to put it in those skinny glasses that only hold two ounces, and then fill the glasses up with ice? One should not have to turn to your jello for hydration.
The score is Mousse 1, Oaken 0: the recipe I tried turned out to be SUCH a dud. I even experimented with "Paul H's Mockray Mousse" just to be able to fill the bonbon shells with _something_, with, well, interesting results. It's something...it just ain't mousse.
Oh, and the first stranger I talk to this morning? A con artist trying to get money "to buy a tire repair kit". Almost exactly the same story he told me in March over in the Fens. Part of me'd like to think he just *seems* like a total hustler and, in fact, he's got the worst car luck ever.

But at least you got a story instead of "Gimme"
Yay about your chocolate party, sorry about your mousse. Sorry to not be there. :(

Date: 2003-08-04 08:17 am (UTC)You know, not to drop any hints or anything, but are you sure there isn't a reason you need to drop by Ira's tonight? Maybe you had a dream...that's it...

Date: 2003-08-04 09:26 am (UTC)Thanks! We didn't get much time yesterday to mingle anyway--it was WAY too hot, and they wanted to take pictures right after.
Glad you made it though!!
