Our first rehearsal today at the actual site, which meant waking up at 6 to drive down to Newport, RI and the Belcourt Mansion. After getting back at midnight from seeing "Pirates".

Let's just say that I've never been so good at playing an inept character. W00t.

Both Newport and the mansion itself were stare-worthy, and I'm going to really enjoy spending more time there. Newport reminds me a lot of Bar Harbor, only with less nature and more New Yorkers. It's been a while since I've been in a capital-T Tourist Town.

And Belcourt, well, it's sort of like what my parents' house would look like if they had ungodly amounts of money and the ability to magically transform stacks of magazines into statuettes and antiques. Can something look like a fairy tale palace and be full of clutter at the same time?

Oh, one more incentive to lose weight--the director wants me to be stiff-legged when I faint, and for another actor to catch me and put me on my feet. Poor Ira. I keep worrying I'll snap his spine.

Will sleep now.

Well, not right now, because I'm typing. But soon. Very very very soon.
