Sep. 18th, 2003 10:08 amYay for birthdays! Thank you everyone; between your good wishes and Deb hiding presents around the house, I was giddy like a ferret on sugar. Thank you thank you thank you.
Boston-area artists/performers/folks who feel like dressing up or getting painted: there's what basically amounts to a DIY arts festival on Newbury Street on Saturday. While they have some events lined up, primarily what the organizers have done is gotten all the necessary permits and put out a call--as long as there's no nudity or fire (this year), the world's your oyster. A game of tag in ball gowns and masks? Cirque du Soleil parodies outside Niketown? It's all good. I'm heading to Boston Costume and Pearl tonight and tomorrow to stock up...
Oh, and a Vanity Smurf update: he's "in better shape than anyone of any age (he's) ever seen". Which I guess comes as a natural result of holding up a mirror for everyone around him so that they're forced to face unpleasant truths. Those mirrors can get wicked heavy.
