Okay, this Crush thing? Where they sent out a "fun little quiz" meme a few months ago so that folks could confess to secret crushes they might have on other LJ users, and now they're offering to identify all the folks with crushes on you for $4?

No offense to anyone who paid the $4, but.......it feels sleazy. Sleeeeeeazy.

I don't like the fact that folks had no warning their "secret" would be revealed to anyone with a little cash. And I *really* don't like the fact that the group who put the quiz out is a collection of sorta-spammers, a "targetted internet marketing" company. Which means that any mail they get with comments or complaints about the quiz and the lack of anonymity are almost guaranteed to be put onto the mailing list and sold to their clients.

And their FAQ (http://euthanize.us/memes/crushmeme2/faq.php) makes them sound like real jerks, as if we needed more confirmation.

I'm so glad I didn't do that quiz. And I'm glad that I read that FAQ, so that my feeling of being pissed at them can override my curiosity about who might've had crushes on me.

If I'd known they were to release the answers i would not have done the meme. That does seem evil. Luckily my 20 or so crushes are of the ' utter fangirl of your creative stuff' sort not the 'I want your booty' sort, so I don't have too much to be embarrassed about. But yeah, spilling the beans like that is sleazy.
