The honeymoon's VERY over with the city of Cambridge--our car got towed! Their street cleaners don't mess around. Oh, and the city uses three different towing services, but will not tell you that unless you specifically ask; they'll just name one of them and let you play Encyclopedia Brown until you track down your poor traumatized vehicle.

Oy.

Sure was a cute doberman at the impound yard, though.

In other news, finally caught Whale Rider and Matrix Revolutions. Still digesting both of them.

Thw only thing I'll say about Matrix is that my favorite moment of the whole movie was towards the beginning in the Merovingian's latex/goth/fetish club*, when we're seeing all these dancers looking sleek and dangerous and feral...

...and in the corner of the screen, just for a second, there's somebody wearing kitty ears. Not even dangerous-looking ones. Tabby ears. I think they were fluffy, too.

I loved it. 'Cuz there's ALWAYS someone who does a Bridget Jones and completely botches their outfit for a party like this. And it's usually me.

*Folks who've seen it, was there a dance or club sequence in 'Bound' with folks writhing all over each other? I'm starting to wonder if it's something the Bros. toss in each of their movies, maybe as a treat for the crew.

Loooooooooved it. Partly because of NZ-based and Kiwi-philic friends who've described Maori culture, so that every now and then I was seeing customs that I'd heard described and going "Oh, so THAT'S what it looks like." Partly because the Uncle and his cronies were so darn lovable. And partly 'cuz the imagery at the climax was just so, so amazing.
